The Effect of Cognitive Integrative Arts Therapy Program on Vocational High School Students' Smoking Patterns, Self-efficacy, and Ability to Handle Stress

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of cognitive integrative art therapy on vocational high school students' smoking patterns, self-efficacy, and ability to handle stress. The research design is pre-post experiment group design, and there were 10 sessions which ran for 60 minutes per session and 3 times a week from December 1 to December 30 in 2011. As a research instrument, the journal recording cigarette consumption, the self-efficacy scale, and the stress handling ability scale were used. The collected data was analyzed by using SPSS 18.0 and the averages and standard deviations were calculated. And Wilcoxon Singned Rank Test was used on the difference of rank of scores to test statistical significance of it. After performing purposive sampling out of non-random sampling for the subjects. The study results are as follows. Firstly, there was a statistically significant changes not only in the overall self-efficacy. Secondly, there was a statistically significant change not only in the overall stress handling ability. Thirdly, 3 out of 12 students quitted smoking thanks to the journal for smoking behavior change. Based on these results, the cognitive integrative art therapy has a positive effect on the smoking patterns of vocational high school students.
